All of our staff hold Enhanced DBS Certification and undergo annual First-Aid and Safeguarding training.
Emily S
Head Coach
Emily manages all of our camps. Emily is also a dance and gymnastics teacher and has completed a First Class BA Hons Degree. She also holds qualifications in safeguarding, child protection, preventing bullying, administering medicine, and more.
Andrew S
Coach
Andrew is studying Criminology at Sunderland University. During term-time Andrew coaches rugby in schools across the North East. He has played for his rugby club since the age of 7 and now coaches a team there.
Sara C
Coach
Sara is currently studying for a Fine Arts Degree at Newcastle University. She has experience as a playworker with young children and working in local primary schools. Sara has a passion for arts and crafts, and her favourite sport to play is tennis.
Frank B
Coach
Frank is completing his final year at Newcastle University studying Business Management and Marketing. Frank has a background in rugby, and currently plays water polo for Newcastle University's first team.
Elliott P
Lead Coach
Elliott has coached at SportNE longer than anyone! Elliott is a PE Teacher, and Sports Science and Sports Management graduate. He also plays and coaches rugby. Elliott is a massive Sunderland fan (to the dislike of most of the kids!)
Holly W
Coach
Holly is a Sport and Exercise Science graduate, she has trained and competed in various sports, from club to international level. Within these clubs, she has coached the younger athletes in the squad in rowing and swimming.
Ben P
Coach
Ben is currently studying Psychology and Sports Science at Newcastle University. Ben is a qualified basketball coach and has experience coaching and refereeing basketball for a variety of ages. He also plays basketball at a national level.
Lucy C
Coach
Lucy is currently studying towards a degree in Primary Education at Sunderland University. Lucy has competed in dance and played football. At SportNE, Lucy looks after our Early Years children.
Devon M
Lead Coach
Devon is currently completing her teacher training and recently achieved her Education degree. Devon has a passion for arts and crafts and loves football. She takes the lead role in caring for our youngest children on camp.
Ryan C
Coach
Ryan works as a Pastoral Officer in a SEMH school. Ryan plays semi-professional rugby and has played both football and rugby at a professional level. Ryan is currently the 1st team play coach for Ryton Rugby Club.
Rory D
Coach
Rory recently graduated from Sunderland University and is pursuing a career in policing. During term time, Rory works in a SEN school. In his spare time, he enjoys playing rugby and supporting Middlesbrough FC (he believes they're best team in the world).
Maisie B
Coach
Maisie currently studies marketing and management at Newcastle University. She has been playing netball for 12 years. Maisie coached sports camps in Bahrain for 4 years, and netball coaching for 5 before coming to the UK and joining SportNE.
